We are a major, multi-channel direct response company that develops marketing and sales channels for leading consumer brands, in-home services and the travel industry in the United States. Our company spends approximately $250,000 to $500,000 on paid search each month. 


We had a number of concerns with our call tracking provider before we engaged Mongoose Metrics to develop a new solution.  The issues ranged from the provider’s inability to capture 100 percent of raw search terms (they were only reporting on 80 percent) to the need for a way to capture unique variables from referring urls with third party transactions. 
Immediately the Mongoose team was extremely proactive.  They suggested unique solutions to our problems by customizing their products to suit our needs. 


As a result of our partnership, we are now able to transfer a member ID from a referring web site and credit it back to the client as a result of a purchase made via a phone call.  This is revolutionary for us. 


For example, a credit card rewards company offers 20,000 skymiles for a client that orders our product. When the user clicks through on the offer and calls the phone number on the landing page we are able to capture a member ID and credit our partner for the conversion.  Our partner, in turn, credits their client with the skymiles.  This transaction is completed without the use of extensions, promotional codes or other clunky mechanisms that reduce the quality of the user experience.


Additionally, with the detailed, real-time reporting which Mongoose provides, we’re able to rapidly respond and make instant decisions regarding trends and changes in search habits.  This capability has given us the opportunity to be extremely competitive in a very quickly changing marketplace while capturing as many customers as possible.


For example, we know that 20 percent of our keywords drive 80 percent of our traffic.  That means when one or more of the lesser-used keywords spikes – as a result of a story in the mainstream media or organic online buzz – we have the immediate data to be able to bid up those keywords and reach higher search engine placement.  Again, this was almost inconceivable just one year ago. 


On top of everything else, the Mongoose team developed customized XML protocols to make sure their data reached our system correctly.  We didn’t have to change any of our processes or procedures but -simply were able to marry the data easily into multiple, customized, in-house reporting systems.
