MONGOOSE METRICS SPC XML API
Mongoose Metrics continues its innovative trend by introducing the keyword call tracking industry’s first XML API for the retrieval of dynamic session based phone numbers. The API gives our customers the ability to dynamically update information stored with the session based phone number in the Mongoose Metrics system. With this API, the customer can use session based phone numbers in any application ensuring that those phone numbers are associated with the most relevant marketing identifiers.
Phone Number Retrieval
To retrieve a session based phone number from Mongoose Metrics, the customer creates an authenticated XML SOAP request over HTTPS to the Mongoose Metrics server. When a phone number is requested for a particular customer SPC campaign, the Mongoose Metrics server replies with the allocated phone number as well as that number’s expiration time. The customer can then publish that phone number in its marketing. Any subsequent phone calls to it will be mapped to the campaign’s destination.
Information Update
Mongoose Metrics stores custom tracking information for each session-based phone number it allocates. Such custom data may include keywords. If the customer has identifying information which he or she would find useful to associate with the phone session, it can be updated via the API. The customer sends an XML request to our server indicating that new information is available for a particular session based phone number. This allows customers to maximize their session based phone numbers with new, more descriptive keywords or even the Twitter ID associated with that phone number. This dynamic customization system, driven by customer derived marketing information, is key to the affodable and simple analysis of backend campaign performance.

EXAMPLE APPLICATION – TWITTER INTEGRATION – LTO
Requirement: A company wants to market a limited time offer to its Twitter followers. The company wants to drive a phone call to complete the order as well as track identifying information of the caller and the particular advertising copy sent.
Solution: Utilizing the Twitter API and the Mongoose API, the company can accomplish the desired task. Twitter can provide a listing of followers. The company can then retrieve a separate Mongoose Metrics phone number for each message from their SPC number pool. Once the number is retrieved, they can update the Mongoose Metrics system with those Twitter IDs receiving the published number as well as a custom field indicating which ad copy version was used.
Once the phone call is placed, the company can view, sort, filter and export the information related to the Twitter IDs and ad copy generating phone orders.
